China has urged NATO to stop exaggerating the "China threat theory".

In a post on its website, China's mission to the European Union said the NATO statement slandered China's peaceful development, misjudged the international situation, and indicated a Cold War mentality.

He said our pursuit of defence and military modernisation is justified, reasonable, open and transparent.
