World Diabetes Day is being observed on Thursday.

It aims to create awareness for ensuring protection from this disease.

The theme for this year is Family and Diabetes.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that measures for prevention and control on diabetes disease are among government's top priorities.

In a message on World Diabetes Day, he said that public awareness on regular basis is necessary for ensuring protection from this disease.

He said that prevention is of great importance regarding this disease and public should take precautionary measures for their protection.

Punjab Minister for Heath Dr. Yasmin Rashid has said that a special awareness campaign for diabetes is also being started across the province.

In a message on World Diabetes Day, the Health Minister said that awareness and counseling is being provided to diabetes patients in the hospitals across the province.
