In Nigeria, two security officials have been killed when gunmen stormed a prison and freed 266 inmates in central Kogi state.

In a statement, a spokesperson to the interior minister Sola Fasure said, the attackers used explosives to destroy the fence on three sides and fought a gun battle with guards at the prison.

He said total 294 prisoners escaped while 28 voluntarily returned.
