Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz says Prime Minister Imran Khan is striving for the establishment of a welfare state in the light of Quaid-e-Azam's guiding principles.

Congratulating the Independence Day to the nation in his tweets on Friday, the Minister said welfare of the poor and downtrodden is the Prime Minister's top priority and the rule of law is his firm aim.

He said an independent state is the fruit of the great sacrifices of our forefathers.

He said the persecution of the besieged Kashmiris and the minorities in India, especially the Muslims, vindicates the two-nation ideology of great leader Quaid-e-Azam.
