Info Minister vows to purge country of corruption
August 13, 2020

Information Minister Shibli Faraz has reaffirmed the government's commitment to purge the country of corruption and transform it into an Islamic welfare state.

He was addressing the inauguration ceremony of Photographic Exhibition 'Freedom Struggle for Pakistan' in Islamabad on Thursday.

Shibli Faraz said we have to take the country towards development and self-reliance if we want to attain a dignified place in the comity of nations. He said on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day, we should renew the pledge that we will not refrain from any sacrifice for the protection and progress of the country.

He said the 14th August reminds us that the Muslims of sub-continent regardless of uncountable problems achieved success in their struggle for a separate homeland under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam for their national and religious identity.  He said Quaid-e-Azam turned the dream of Pakistan into a reality. He said the atrocities unleashed against Muslims in India as well as Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have vindicated Quaid-e-Azam's vision of Pakistan.

The Information Minister said the present government is making sincere efforts for socio-economic changes in the country.  He said the government gave the vision of Naya Pakistan and devoting all its energies for the welfare people.  He said the country is facing multiple challenges due to the flawed policies of the past. He said the process of accountability will go ahead and no effort will be spared to uphold the rule of law and strengthen the national institutions.

Later talking to the media, the Information Minister said the government wants unity on matters of national interests. He said all the decisions will be taken in the best interest of the country.

Referring to the improvement in Covid-19 situation, the Information Minister said the government's smart lockdown policy remained success.
