World Health Organization (WHO) has urged both governments and people everywhere to work to suppress the coronavirus pandemic.

Addressing a press conference in Geneva, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said there are glimmers of hope in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, even as global cases from the virus near 20 million and deaths approach 750,000.

WHO Director-General stressed that virus suppression is crucial for societies to re-open safely including for students to return to schools.
