Salman Ghani (Senior Journalist) Pakistan is an agricultural country and never suffered a crisis in this sector ever before. The new government has to take certain measures to boost the sector as people of the country have hopes with the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. At the time the country is facing the issue of availability of Urea but the incumbent government reiterated the commitment that  it would not tolerate unjustified price increase of urea. There is dire need to ensure a proper checking and tracking system to overcome shortages of key soil nutrients in the country. The provincial government needs to collaborate with the federal government to overcome the issues related to the agriculture sector and boost the industry. The smuggling of various food items including wheat and wheat related products to Afghanistan would be a challenge for the present government. It is the responsibility of customs officials on the ground, law enforcement agencies on the border, police, and officials to control the smuggling of wheat to Afghanistan.

Mushtaq Ahmed Mehar (Former Ambassador)  It is a positive statement of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken that the United States supports the democratic system in Pakistan and never supported a specific political party. During my tenure in foreign services observed, the United States supported the government of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and also supported Gen. Zia-ul-Haq's tenure as President of Pakistan. Being a democratic country, we should be rational as the United States supports peaceful upholding of constitutional and democratic principles in Pakistan. The United States always claimed to be supportive of  the broader principles, the principles of rule of law, of equal justice under the law in our country. Pakistan is a sovereign country and every other country has to respect our interests. Pakistan wants good bilateral relations not only with the United States but all the countries in the region and across the globe. United States also realizes that Pakistan is a frontline ally of United States in war against terror and also acknowledges the crucial role played by Pakistan n US withdrawal from Afghanistan.
