Analysts appreciate Pakistan's complete solidarity with oppressed Palestinian Muslims
May 11, 2021

Shahid Amin (Former Ambassador): Condemnation of Israel while normalizing and encouraging ties by certain Islamic countries will be counter-productive. Turkey has joined us in condemning the Israeli acts of aggression but we must understand that Israel has already diplomatic relations with Ankara. We should keep raising the conscious of the world but it is yet to be seen whether it will work. For example, German foreign office has expressed concern on launching of rocket attacks on Israel by Hamas rather than condemning the killings of innocent Palestinians. Unless there are double standards, situation is not going to change.

Khalid Khattak (Former Ambassador): Palestinian issue has been lingering since 1948. West Bank was forcibly occupied by Israel after its inception. The Arab countries bordering Israel have important role to play in resolving this burning issue. Unfortunately, the states have agendas of serving their own interests, rather than thinking of the issues being faced by Ummah. The international community, especially the Western world, has kept criminal silence over atrocities being committed by Israel over Palestinians.

Dr. A. Z. Hilali (IR Expert): The incumbent government has a clear approach towards the issue of Kashmir that Pakistan will not compromise on its principled stand on this important issue.Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has effectively highlighted the issue of Kashmir at all international forums and urged the world community to take notice of serious human rights violations in IIOJ&K. Prime Minister Imran Khan during his addresses at the UN General Assembly pointed out the dire situation in held Kashmir and the sufferings of Kashmiri people.
