Different parts of the country including Islamabad, Upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are receiving intermittent rain which has increased the intensity of cold.

A spokesperson of Met Office told our correspondent that the current rain spell will persist till Tuesday morning.

Highest rainfall of twenty-one mm has been recorded in Saidu Sharif followed by 18 mm in Peshawar and Dir, fifteen mm in Malam Jabba and Rawalpindi and fourteen mm in Islamabad.

The spokesperson said six inch snowfall has been recorded in Malam Jabba and Astore and four inch in Kalaam and Skardu.

The spokesperson said the rain will have salutary impact on wheat crop.
