In Afghanistan, forty civilians including a top al-Qaeda leader Asim Umar were killed in a joint US-Afghan military operation at a compound in Taliban's stronghold of Musa Qala district in Helmand province. 

Afghanistan's intelligence agency confirmed in a Tweet, the head of al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent was killed in a raid last month.

Meanwhile, a spokesman of Taliban has denied the news.
