Punjab Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mian Aslam Iqbal has directed the Mines and Mineral Resources Department to cut down ten percent of the department's non-development expenditures.

He was chairing a meeting of Punjab Investment Board in Lahore today (Tuesday), regarding performance of the Department, achievement of its goals, proposals to boost income and future plan of action.

The Provincial Minister directed the officials to make lease out process of mineral resources easy and transparent and also provide One Window facility to investors. He said that Department should have all necessary data so that the leasing out process is made easier.   

He said that Punjab province is blessed with natural resources however in past no serious efforts were made to benefit from those resources. He said that Pakistan can be made strong economically through utilization of underground resources.
