Analysts praise Kamyab Jawan Sports Drive to channelize the energies of youth
December 06, 2021

Qamar Zaman (Former Squash Player): The initiative of the present government of launching Kamyab Jawan Sports Drive is a good development and it will explore the talent from the grass-roots level. The government has to devise the policies for the sportspersons, including ensuring their job security. Special coaches should be hired to provide quality training to the youth. Every country in the world has a special focus on sports activities in order to engage their youth as part of the extracurricular activities. The government must provide the sportspersons quality health services and incentives and I am hopeful that the PTI government will definitely devise policies in this regard. Sports camps must be organized with the aim to provide professional trainings to the youth, so that they could illuminate the country's name in the world.

Syed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari (Leader PTI): Seventy percent population of Pakistan is under the age of 30 and the youth have high hopes from the government. The main aim of the initiative Kamyab Jawan Sports Drive inaugurated by the Prime Minister today is to activate the youth in sports activities. The government is working on establishing grounds for the purpose and sufficient funds will be allocated in order to provide facilities to the youth.

Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Asif Yasin Malik (Defense Analyst): The demolishing of historic Babari mosque in India by the Hindu extremists was an atrocious attack on human rights of Muslim minority. It took many years to demolish the ancient mosque. The act spread hatred and anger among the Muslims of India. The foreign office has taken a good stance by urging the world to force New Delhi to ensure security of holy sites of Muslims in the country. The Indian Supreme Court in a controversial judgment in November 2019 had allowed the extremist Hindu parties to construct Ram Mandir at the site of the historic Babri Masjid. The decision of the Indian Supreme court was a clear indication that it was under the pressure and influence of Hindu extremists. It is unfortunate that the targeting of Muslims and their religious sites and cultural heritage continues unabated in India and it is time for the world to take strict note of Indian aggressive policies.

Maj. Gen. (Retd.) Ejaz Awan (Defense Analyst): Pakistan has rightly expressed its concerns to the world that there could be severe humanitarian crisis if the financial assistance is not provided to the new Afghan government. The people of Afghanistan have rendered many sacrifices in the last four decades. First, Afghanis had to suffer under the Soviet invasion and then they were subjected to inhuman treatment under the occupation of US-led coalition troops for two decades. However, an agreement was signed in which the US and allies agreed to pull out from Afghanistan. The Taliban government after coming into power has fulfilled its commitments, including announcing general amnesty for all their enemies, not targeting the occupied forces and making efforts to reconstruct the destroyed infrastructure of the country. It is the moral responsibility of the western powers to support the Afghan government in rebuilding the infrastructure. The main concern of Pakistan is the influx of refugees. Pakistan shares the longest border with Afghanistan and if the critical situation prevails in the war torn country, it may lead to an influx of a large number of refugees. All the regional stakeholders need to come forward and support the Afghan government for long term peace and stability in the region.
