The United Nations has launched a global fundraising winter campaign to help displaced families in Afghanistan to avert a hunger crisis in the country.

The spokesperson UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Babar Baloch in Geneva appealed for increased support for 3.5 million people displaced by conflict inside Afghanistan.

Babar Baloch said nearly twenty-three million people are facing extreme levels of hunger and nearly nine million of whom are at risk of famine.
