Major social media services including Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, hit by a massive outage, are being gradually restored in some countries including Pakistan.

The services of social media sites remained suspended for seven hours and the data from the websites suggest the outage is affecting millions of user accounts across the world.

Facebook said we are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and apologised for inconvenience.
