The UN Security Council (UNSC) will meet in New York on Friday to discuss the situation in Myanmar and measures against military junta.
The UN human rights investigator on Myanmar, Thomas Andrews has urged the Council to impose a global arms embargo and targeted economic sanctions on the ruling junta.
Meanwhile, the United States has imposed sanctions on Myanmar’s Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs and military conglomerates.
