Seventeen people were killed and twenty-seven others injured in a collision between an oil tanker and a passenger bus in Lachi area of Kohat district on Saturday.

The bus was on its way from Buner to Karachi.

According to police, the incident took place due to over-speeding.

The injured have been shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Kohat.

Meanwhile in a statement, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Caretaker Chief Minister Dost Muhammad has expressed deep grief over the loss of precious lives in the accident.

He directed health authorities to provide better medical facilities to the injured.
