Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz senior Parliamentarian Begum Najma Hameed has passed away after a protracted illness.

She was 78.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of former President of Women Wing of PML (N) and Senior Parliamentarian Begum Najma Hameed.

In his condolence message, he said Begum Najma Hameed's services for the supremacy of constitution, democracy, country and the party are unforgettable.

Describing her a party asset, Shehbaz Sharif said Begum Najma Hameed was a close and a trusted friend of PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif and Late Begum Kulsoom Nawaz. He said Begum Najma Hameed was an ideological, principled, brave and kind woman.

Commiserating with the bereaved family, the Prime Minister prayed for the departed soul.
