Dr. Rasul Bakhsh Rais (IR Expert): Three major common challenges faced by Pakistan and Saudi Arabia include security risks from terrorists, shifting trends of economy and climate change. We need to make collective efforts to cope with the security issues. Climate change is another real threat for both the countries. Survival of our generations depends on the measures we take today to address the issue of climate change. Our economy is facing adverse impacts of global warming. Iran and Saudi Arabia need to revise their foreign policies in order to maintain good bilateral ties. It is high time to forget minor issues and face the future challenges with unity. Saudi Arabia can exert economic pressure on India to stop human rights violations in IIOJ&K. The options of increasing economic cooperation between Pakistan and India can further be explored.
Ali Sarwar Naqvi (Former Ambassador): Pakistan and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia enjoy deep historical and religious ties. Both countries are time tested friends. Pakistan has diverse bilateral ties with Saudi Arabia covering many fields. The forthcoming visit of Prime Minister Imran to Saudi Arabia would further strengthen ties between two brotherly countries. The expected trade agreement between Pakistan and KSA would bring positive impact on our economy. There is a dire need to further increase the volume of trade with Saudi Arabia. The crown prince of Saudi Arabia and Prime Minister Imran khan both believe in economic cooperation and development through use of information technology. A large number of Pakistani diaspora is playing a positive role in the development of Saudi Arabia. Pakistan is playing a positive role to defuse tensions between Riyadh and Tehran. Pakistan has also played an important role in bridging the gaps between Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
Dr. Khurram Iqbal (IR Expert): West has dual standards as far as human rights violations in IIOJ&K are concerned. Media in IIOJ&K is not free and Modi regime wants to present a self-styled narrative to mislead the world community. The international community must come forward to make collective efforts for the freedom of media and press in the held valley. Freedom of expression and human rights are sometimes being used as a weapon by the West. The West destroyed the entire Iraq on the basis of false accusations. The West is now envious of China's growing economy. Western media is being used to safeguard the US interests and malign China's image at the international front.
