A three-day Shandur Polo Festival began in Scenic valley of district Chitral on Friday.

Secretary Tourism department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Tahir Orakzai inaugurated the festival.

In the opening match of Shandur Polo, Laspur Chitral defeated Ghizar Gilgit Baltistan team by 14-4 goals.

The festival is jointly organized by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority and District Administration Chitral.

Different colorful programs including paragliding, food stalls, music programs and traditional dances will also be part of the event.

Foreign and local tourists from across the country reached Shandur valley to witness the different programs of the festival. Similarly, a special tent village has also been set up to facilitate local and foreign tourists.
