Governor State Bank Raza Baqir says Pakistan has made significant strides in monetary and economic policy that helped stabilizing the country's economy.

In an interview with Bloomberg, he said due to prudent economic policies we have restored the confidence of investors and our Stock Exchange has witnessed a sharp rise.

The Governor State Bank said now we are taking steps to transfer the benefits of improved economy to the common man.

He said start rate of our monetary policy is better overall and we will not bring any change in existing policy rates.

Counting on the government's measures to combat the COVID-19, Raza Baqir said our Ehsas Cash Program is being appreciated at various international forums including World Bank. He said continuous efforts of the government helped contain the pandemic as well as saving the economy.

The Governor State Bank said steps are being taken to support the agriculture sector that is major contributor to our economy.
