Election Commission has announced official results of Multan by-election declaring Syed Abdul Gilani of PPP as winner
The Election Commission of Pakistan has announced the official results of the by election of National Assembly seat 151 Multan IV‚ declaring PPP candidate Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani as the winner.
According to the official results‚ Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani has bagged 64340 votes while his rival independent candidate Shaukat Bosan obtained 60 761 votes.
The turnout remained 41.50 percent.

Pakistan People's Party (PPP) candidate Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani has won the by-election of NA-151 Multan-IV.
According to unofficial results declared by the Election Commission regional office Multan‚ Abdul Qadir Gilani bagged 64‚628 votes while his rival independent candidate Shaukat Bosan obtained 60‚532 votes.
PPP leaders and workers took to the roads and streets in jubilation while many of them also gathered outside Gilani House in Multan to join the celebrations.
Addressing PPP workers‚ Former Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said PPP would continue to follow the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
He said that PPP initiated idea of south Punjab as separate province and the party would honour its pledges including establishment of new province.
On this occasion‚ Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani said that he came into the court of masses after disqualification of his father the masses have given their decision in the shape of his victory.
He said that by winning election he has told PTI Chief Imran Khan how to take four wickets on a single ball.
