Accession to Pakistan Day is being celebrated on Thursday (July 19) on both sides of the Line of Control with the renewed pledge to continue the struggle till the liberation of occupied Kashmir from Indian yoke and accession of the entire state to Pakistan.The day is being observed to commemorate the adoption of the historical resolution on this day in 1947 by the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference at the residence of renowned Kashmiri leader and founder President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan in Srinagar.
The resolution demanded the accession of the state of Jammu and Kashmir to Pakistan in accordance with the partition plan and two-nation theory.
Functions‚ seminars and rallies will be held throughout the state to highlight the importance of the day with special reference to the ongoing liberation struggle in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Leaders and representatives of various political and religious parties and social and cultural organizations will participate in these functions.
