President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed the confidence that the resumption of sport ties between Pakistan and India would help promote peace and friendship between the two countries and their people.
He was talking to Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Zaka Ashraf who called on him in Islamabad on Tuesday.
Chairman PCB briefed the President- who is also the Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan Cricket Board-about his visit to India and the decision of Board of Control for Cricket in India to resume Cricket ties between Pakistan and India.
Indian Cricket officials said yesterday they had invited Pakistan for a series later this year‚ the first in five years.
The President while welcoming the decision of BCCI appreciated the efforts of Chairman PCB for resumption of Pak-India Cricket ties.
He expressed the hope that the resumption of the Cricket would provide an opportunity to the people of the two countries to enjoy some good cricket.
