    In Punjab‚ OPD services have been restored in provincial hospitals after doctors of Army Medical Corps assumed duties in place of striking young doctors.


    A Spokesman of Punjab Government said around one hundred fifty doctors from the Army and newly inducted ad hoc doctors are attending to patients.

     

    Pakistan Medical Association Punjab has warned the Punjab government against torturing Doctors by the Police.

     

    Meanwhile‚ a magistrate in Lahore remanded four doctors to police custody for four days in child death case.

     

    The child died of non-availability of medical treatment due to strike by doctors.


    Meanwhile‚ young doctors have announced to continue their strike.

     

    They have demanded apology from Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif‚ release of their arrested colleagues and withdrawal of all cases against the doctors.

    Adviser on Interior Rehman Malik has expressed concern over the bad governance in Punjab on the issue of young doctors' strike.

     

    In a statement‚ he advised the Punjab Chief Minister to resolve problems of the people at the earliest.

    Minister of State for Water and Power‚ Tasneem Ahmed Qureshi has urged the Punjab government to fulfill legitimate demands of young doctors.

     

    Addressing a function in Sargodha on Monday‚ he said Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif should adopt a serious and civilized attitude to address problems of young doctors and the general public.

     

    He said the PML-N's fight against the federal government is in fact against the people and democracy.
