Talking to IRNA‚ Ghulam Murtaza Solangi said that it is very good news that finally Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) and PBC would start a new chapter in terms of cooperation.
"The MoU that was signed today serves as basic framework and foundation stone for cooperation between IRIB and PBC‚" he said.
He added that the MoU opened the gates for cooperation in all fields for example in news‚ current affairs‚ programming‚ culture‚ music‚ information technology‚ training‚ all areas of operation of broadcasting‚ so this is a great beginning.
Ghulam Murtaza Solangi welcomed the efforts of Vice President of IRIB for promoting Iran-Pakistan cooperation in media sector.
"Basically it is a great beginning to start very good relationship in terms of cooperation between the state media of both countries‚" he said.
To a question DG PBC said that IRNA is an official news agency and their right cooperation would be with Associated Press of Pakistan (APP)‚ but since we also use the news provided by different news agencies so we would love to have a separate agreement with IRNA.
Replying to another question‚ Ghulam Murtaza Solangi said‚ "No I am not satisfied with present level of media cooperation between Iran and Pakistan."
"I think we need greater cooperation between media organizations of Pakistan and Iran‚ but instead of repenting the past it is good thing that the relations have warmed up and we look forward to opening of new vista of cooperation with Iran‚' added the Pakistani official.
