FM-93 channel of Radio Pakistan in Skardu has started its broadcasts.

Having a range of forty kilometers‚ it is the first FM channel of the area to provide entertainment and information to the local people. It will also help promote local culture and language besides integrating the national unity.

Radio Pakistan's Engineers have themselves installed all the equipment of the newly established FM channel.
Speaking in a programme of the FM-93 Skardu‚ Director General Radio Pakistan Murtaza Solangi said the establishment of this FM channel is an accomplishment of the vision of the present democratic government to empower people and give them access to information besides entertainment.

He said Radio Pakistan so far has established two FM stations in Gilgit and Skardu and we will further expand our FM network in other areas of Gilgit Baltistan.

The Director General appreciated the staff of Radio Pakistan Skardu and the project team for successfully accomplishing the task in a short period of time.

He urged the Radio Pakistan Programmers to work devotedly and produce quality programmes for the promotion of local culture.
