


Making a policy statement in the Senate‚ Petroleum Minister Dr. Asim Hussain said the government is cognizant of the use of substandard CNG cylinders and kits in public vehicles.
The Minister said Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority will be geared up to control CNG explosions for the protection of human lives.
Earlier‚ he opposed the adjournment motion moved by Prof. Khurshid Ahmad regarding substandard CNG cylinders.
Opposing another adjournment motion by Prof. Khurshid Ahmad regarding harassment of women in NGOs‚ Advisor to Prime Minister on Human Rights Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar said legislation has already been enacted to ensure the protection of women folk at workplace.
He said if the members want to make the law more effective they can introduce amendments in it.
The Chairman ruled that a committee be set up to look into all those laws which need amendments after the passage of 18th Amendment.
The House will now meet again on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
