Flood water ravaging from the breaches in protective embankments of Indus River is still posing serious threat to Badin city and Johi town while more than one hundred and fifty surrounding villages have been inundated.
District Coordination Officer Dadu Iqbal Memon told Radio Pakistan's representative, Tariq Baloch that the floodwater gushing from the breach in S.P. bund is advancing towards M.N.V drain a few kilometers away on the left side of Dadu and Johi.
The flow of water in M.N.V drain has already touched ten thousand cusecs against its designed capacity of three thousand cusecs.
He said that the residents of eleven union councils of Dadu city have been put on high alert.
The DCO said the Pakistan Army personnel and the Sindh irrigation department staff with the help of more than five thousand local volunteers have completed the erection of rind bunds around Dadu and Johi.
Round-the-clock patrolling is being carried out along the bunds while heavy machinery has also been made available to re-strengthen the vulnerable points.
