Taliban are not willing to negotiate with Karzai government and they are in the position of dictating their own terms to continue peace process. Pakistan has always facilitated every initiative taken for Afghan peace and Trump administration has realized that Pakistan is significant for peace process. Taliban should not delegitimize the democratic Afghan setup. It is legitimate demand of Taliban that US administration should completely withdraw its forces from Afghanistan. Peace in Asia is linked with peace in Afghanistan. The incumbent government of Pakistan is taking concrete measures to facilitate peace process. The US administration must acknowledge and appreciate Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war against terrorism.
