Peace in Afghanistan is ultimately linked with successful intra Afghan dialogue. The security situation in the region has visibly improved in recent years. The incumbent government in Islamabad has established an atmosphere of harmony in the region. The Kabul government remained failed to establish its writ on areas controlled by Taliban and other groups. Despite of using force and weapons, the US Administration failed to defeat Taliban and they emerged as a power. India is playing very negative role in Afghan issue and using Afghan soil for subversive activities to destabilize Pakistan. Peace in Afghanistan is in the best interest of Pakistan. Islamabad should determine its limits of engagement in afghan peace process to avoid over-commitment.
