General, retired, Naeem Khalid Lodhi (Defense Analyst):  When Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s party won last general election in 2014 and almost all the parliamentary seats in the heartland states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. The BJP-led government suppressed independence of the media industry and systematically destroyed country’s state institutions.  The party also failed to fulfill its promises made with the Indian nation. The BJP has made a lot of tall claims about creating jobs, but failed to fulfill them. The BJP campaign was focusing on nationalism, Hindutva and corruption.
