Protection of minorities is enshrined in the constitution of Pakistan

Dr. Khurram Iqbal (IR Expert): Protection of minorities is enshrined in the constitution of Pakistan. Our founding father Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah clearly stated that Pakistan will be the country where the masses belonging to any religion will have full freedom to practice their faiths. The incumbent government is making all out efforts to protect the dignity of the minorities. Sikhs, Hindus and Christians are part of our armed forces as well. On the other hand, in Modi's India the Indian government finds Pakistan as scapegoat if anything happens in their country. BJP government uses anti-Pakistan rhetoric for its political mileage. In a recent leaked report, it was found that Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Nigeria were included in grey list for human rights record, but India was not included despite its worst human rights record. In past, the US President Donald Trump adopted discriminatory policies towards the Muslim countries. However, since Joe Biden took oath as US President, we expect change in US policies as Biden has always been vocal about the human rights. We also expect a full stop on human rights abuses in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir committed by India. In future, we need to look beyond the Afghan situation as far as Pak-US relations are concerned. Pakistan needs to find other areas of convergence in order to improve Pak-US relations. As far as China-US relations are concerned, Joe Biden will not revert all the decisions of Donald Trump as US administration still considers China's emergence as threat.
