Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has launched the tree plantation campaign on the occasion of Tiger Force Day by planting a tree sapling at artificial forest "Miyawaki" at Shadman Market Park in Lahore today.

WHO says Latin America is the epicentre of the pandemic. Brazil has the second highest number of cases in the world and has recorded almost 100,000 deaths, while Mexico, the second-most affected country in the region, has recorded more than 50,000 deaths.

More than a million cases have been confirmed in Africa, although the true extent of the pandemic across the continent is not known.

Several countries across Europe have reported a recent rise in cases.

In mid-July, Vietnam still shone as a Covid-19 outlier. No reported deaths, and months without a locally transmitted case.

President Donald Trump signed executive orders on Saturday partly restoring enhanced unemployment payments to the tens of millions of Americans who lost jobs in the coronavirus pandemic, as the United States marked a grim milestone of 5 million cases.
