Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said  Radio Pakistan being an effective medium of communication has been playing very constructive role in promoting national integration and projecting the message of brotherhood and unity.
Addressing National Excellence Awards 2006 distribution ceremony of Radio Pakistan in Islamabad Sunday 11th February 2007. He said Radio Pakistan always remained  in the forefront and projected the national spirit and devotion thorugh its programmes. He appreciated the presentation of news , current affairs programmes , discussion, analysis and music programmes in different languages by Radio Pakistan.
Mr. Shauakt Aziz said  that more FM stations are being installed in various parts of the country to apprise the nation about national policies and goals.
He assured that all the sources would be provided to this national organization to improve its performance in different fields including current affairs programmes.
The Prime Minister announced five hundred thousand rupees  cash reward for producer Azhar Ali of Radio Pakistan Muzaffarabad who despite losing his three children in the 8th October deadly earthquake continued his duties.
He also distributed life time achievement awards among Sajjad Kishwar, Tasawwar Khanam, Muhammad Qawi Khan, Suryya Multanikar and Sayed Salim Gilani. He also gave away melody queen award to Muhtarma Naied Akhtar having one hundred thousand cash award.
Over eighty Super Star Awards, Anchor Persons Awards and others were also distributed among the PBC members for their meritorious performances in the organization.

The function was attended by the Deputy Chairman Senate, Jan Muhammad Jamali, Federal Minsters  Muhammad Ali Durrani, Javed Ashraf Qazi, Engineer Amir Muqam , Chudhary Shahbaz Hussain besides a  large number of people
