The United Nations says over three hundred million children across the world are suffering from mental and physical growth due to pollution related issues.

United Nations International Children 's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) in its report released on Monday said air pollution is a major contributing factor for the deaths of around six hundred thousand children under five every year.

UNICEF said about two billion children live in areas where outdoor air pollution exceeds minimum air-quality guidelines set by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Report said South Asia has the largest number of children living in such areas at about 620 million, followed by Africa with 520 million.
