Over 60,000 patients treated free of cost in AJK
In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, more than sixty thousand patients have been treated free of cost under Prime Minister’s Free Medical Emergency Services program.
The first phase of this program was started on 2nd of this month under which all treatment including life saving drugs and other medicines are being provided free of cost at special emergency units established at 10 government run hospitals in the state.
Official sources told our Muzaffarabad Correspondent that at initial stage, government has created 297 new posts and provided 160 million rupees for medicines to execute this mega project.
Sources said that 165 million rupees are being allocated in the next year’s budget by creating 950 new posts of doctors’ nurses and paramedics to meet the requirements of the staff in all public sector hospitals in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking to our Correspondent, Deputy Medical Superintendent of Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan Hospital Muzaffarabad Dr. Noman Manzoor Butt said that according to the vision of Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan the government is committed to improve the quality of medical services for the masses.
