Pakistan has strongly condemned India's politicization of cricket.

In a tweet on Saturday, Foreign Office spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudri reacted strongly to the posture adopted by the Indian cricket board to prevent world players from participating in Kashmir Premier League.

The spokesperson said depriving young Kashmiri players of the opportunity to share dressing room with big names in cricket is unfortunate and regrettable.

In a separate tweet, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain said this is not the first time that the Modi government has resorted to such tactics for its nefarious politics.

He said the pressure on South African cricketer Herschelle Gibbs not to participate in the Kashmir League is a continuation of this old practice. He said we strongly condemn these measures.

Chaudhary Fawad Hussain said the Kashmir struggle will not be harmed by such measures but only benefit it.
