Pakistan desires to enhance political and trade relations with the South East Asian countries
Talking to Ambassador designate of Pakistan to Thailand Asim Iftikhar in Islamabad, President Mamnoon Hussain says Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Thailand.
There is a need to further strengthen bilateral relations in trade, defence and education sectors. He stressed the need for boosting ties with regional countries for getting permanent membership of the Association of South East Asian Nations.
World appreciates Pakistan’s Economic Strides: NA told
The House resumed discussion on the budget 2017-18. Participating in the discussion, Rao Muhammad Ajmal Khan said leading world financial institutions are appreciating the economic strides made by the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He said power outages have significantly been reduced and expressed the confidence that these will completely end by next year. Incentives should be given to the farmers in order to bring the barren land under cultivation. Chaudhry Jaffer Iqbal said PML-N government will continue to work for welfare of the people.
President Signs Companies ACT, 2017
The new law will facilitate the growth of economy in general and the corporate sector in particular by providing simplified procedures for ease of starting and doing businesses, greater protection of investors. It will give a boost to corporatization in the country. It will also provide a simpler and softer regime for small companies, enable e-governance, augment standards of transparency and quality of information, and ensure better corporate governance. The enactment of the Companies Act, 2017, is one of the most significant legal reforms in the country. It is aimed at bringing the company law on a par with global standards.
Federal Government decides to establish Industrial Estate at Naurak in North Waziristan Agency
A sokesman of FATA Development Authority told Radio Pakistan Peshawar correspondent that the industrial estate will be constructed under Special Economic Zone on Bannu Miranshah-Ghulam Khan Road of the Agency. The industrial estate will regulate the mineral exploration process, create employment opportunities and improve socio-economic conditions of the tribal people. Tenders have already been floated for the project.
