Japan urges China to play role in restraining North Korea's nuclear program
Japan has urged China to play bigger role in restraining North Korea's nuclear and missile development program.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's top national security adviser Shotaro Yachi made these remarks in a meeting with China's top diplomat, State Councillor Yang Jiechi in Tokyo.
During the meeting Yachi told Yang that North Korea's actions had reached a new level of provocation.
He said Japan and China need to work together to strongly urge North Korea to avoid further provocative actions and obey the United Nations resolutions.
