9 mega NADRA centers being set up across country: Nisar
Interior Minister says E-Passport system will also be launched soon.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan says nine mega NADRA centers with state of the art facilities are being set up across the country.
He was talking to news persons in Islamabad after the inaugural ceremony of soft launch of NADRA mega centre in Lahore and Executive Passport office in Faisalabad and Sargodha on Tuesday evening.
The Minister said round the clock service will be provided at these mega centers.
He said twelve executive passport offices will be established by September this year.
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said E-Passport system will also be launched soon.
He said presently 557 NADRA centers are operational in the country and transparency is being ensured at all level.
The Minister said our target is 1500 NADRA centers and we are trying to provide NADRA facilities at the post offices across the country.
He said during the scrutiny process, thirty thousand passports have been cancelled and over one hundred seventy five thousand Computerized National Identity Cards been blocked in the national interest.
In reply to a question, the Minister said that no CNIC or Passport will be blocked without serving notice.
He said that ten thousand CNICs have been recovered from Pakistan Origin Card holders.
He said all the blocked ID cards and passport holders have right to appeal.
