The United States and Saudi Arabia have agreed to step up counter-terrorism and military cooperation.

The agreement came during telephonic talks between US President Donald Trump and Saudi King Salman.

According to Saudi official news agency, the two leaders affirmed the "depth and durability of strategic relationship" between the two countries.

Later, White House said in statement that Saudi King also agreed to support safe zones in Syria and Yemen and to help the refugees displaced by the ongoing conflicts.
