Pakistan has immense young talent of badminton
Raziuddin Ahmad says practice of fake age certificates should be discouraged as it stops the genuine talent to emerge.
Pakistan has an immense young talent which can be exploited for the promotion of badminton in the country.
This was stated by leading national coach of badminton in Pakistan Raziuddin Ahmad while speaking in Sports World program of News and Current Affairs Channel of Radio Pakistan.
He said in past the game of badminton has been neglected in Pakistan due to which no international player could make place in international top rankings.
Giving suggestions for the uplift of badminton, Raziuddin Ahmad said the practice of fake age certificates should be discouraged as it stops the genuine talent to emerge. The coach said educational boards have a responsibility to select the time of year most suitable for badminton training for school age children. In this regard, he proposed the training camps to be held in the months of December to April due to their favorable weather.
Raziuddin Ahmad said the syllabus of sports should be introduced at school-level. In this regard, students can be given sports-related activities as home work besides their academic work load.
The national coach of Pakistan said many innovations have been made in the game of badminton internationally which should also be replicated in Pakistan. In this connection, he said designed multi-feeding, shuttle feeding machine and other improvements need to be introduced at the earliest to give the players experience to help them play at international field.
Giving details of Raziuddin Badminton Academy, which he set up for the promotion of the game in Pakistan, he said the academy will select players on the basis of their medical fitness and will impart them both theoretical and practical training.
