In Afghanistan , government forces have regained control of a strategic Musa Qala district in southern Helmand province.

A spokesman for the governor of Helmand province, Omar Zwak said on Sunday that six soldiers were killed and fourteen wounded in the fighting.

Taliban insurgents overran Musa Qala on Wednesday after a week of attacks targeting security forces there.

Meanwhile, NATO said it conducted at least thirteen airstrikes on Taliban positions in the district last week to aid Afghan forces.
