Pakistan calls for fostering international interfaith harmony
Pakistani delegate at UN says freedom of expression needs to be promoted.
At the United Nations, Pakistan has called for organizing discussions at regional and international levels for fostering interfaith harmony.
Speaking at a UN panel in New York, Pakistani delegate Masood Anwar said freedom of expression is a fundamental right which needs to be promoted. But it should not be abused to create misunderstandings between various cultures and religions.
He said Pakistan is committed to freedom of expression and it is amongst the countries where government policies have created an enabling environment for the growth of media.
