Kashmiris observe shutdown today
APHC leaders appeal people to boycott farcical polls.
In Occupied Kashmir, shutdown is being observed in parts of Srinagar where sham polls are being held today (Tuesday).
APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and veteran Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani have appealed the people to boycott the farcical polls.
The strike is aimed at conveying the message to the world that the farcical elections under Indian constitution could not be a substitute to a UN sponsored plebiscite.
Mirwaiz Umar in a statement denounced the crackdown by Indian troops and police on Hurriyat leaders and activists across the held territory.
The puppet authorities have put Srinagar, Badgam and Ganderbal districts under a thick security blanket on the eve of the so-called polling.
