Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood says the federal government is working closely with provincial governments to bolster technical education for overall national development.

Addressing a Conference on National Vocational Qualifications Framework: Challenges and Opportunities, in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said the government is committed to develop standards in the field of technical education and vocational training.

The Minister said the government believes in imparting skills to both male and female.

Shafqat Mahmood emphasized the need for such a certification regime in the field of technical education, which is accepted and recognized without having any issue.

He said the government is working to bring all the certifications up to the mark in terms of high standard and accredited by the federal government.

The Minister said only those certifications will be recognized which are accredited by the federal government.
