Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has urged the provincial governments to show open heartedness for making space from the gross divisible pool for the development of Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and FATA. Revenue collection has increased significantly over the last few years and share from the divisible pool for tribal areas, AJK and Gilgit Baltistan will not affect the allocations for the federating units. He reminded that more than eighty recommendations of the house were accommodated last year.

Rs. 320 bn allocated for communications sector in budget 2017-18

Minister for Finance Muhammad Ishaq Dar said on Friday that the government was attaching top priority to the development of motorway and highways network and has allocated Rs320 billion for this sector in the coming fiscal year's budget while in the outgoing fiscal year Rs188 billion were earmarked for the communication sector. Delivering his budget 2017-18 speech in the National Assembly, he said that by 2013-14, only Rs51 billion were allocated for this sector. Pakistan due to its strategic location enjoyed the unique capacity to provide a link to the countries of the region.

Govt announces Rs180b package in new budget for textile sector

The government has announced one hundred eighty billion rupees package in the new budget for the textile sector to boost exports. According to budget documents, the government had given relaxation on the import of textile machinery for modernization and enhancing the capacity of the textile sector. It was the huge package announced in the country’s history to decrease the cost of doing business aimed at enhancing business activities.

All FBR field offices to observe extended working hours tomorrow, Wednesday

All field offices of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will observe extended working hours tomorrow and on Wednesday to facilitate the tax payers. The offices will remain open till 6 p.m.
