Prime Minister directs for ensuring maximum electricity to people in Ramazan
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has directed to ensure minimum electricity load shedding to provide relief to people in Ramazan-ul-Mubarak. The meeting was informed that by March next year an additional 9,107 MW electricity will be available in the transmission system. The government is fully cognizant of the problems faced by masses due to power shortage and will not rest till a significant relief is provided. Keeping in view the urgency of the situation, the Prime Minister has called another meeting of the committee tomorrow. It was further informed that monitoring of power generation and distribution systems is being undertaken regularly with physical and field monitoring of 270 projects. Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources briefed the committee regarding new gas pipelines being built for LNG from Karachi to Lahore.

The Senate resumed its session in Islamabad today with Chairman Raza Rabbani in the Chair. Chairman Standing Committee on National Health services Sajjad Hussain Turi presented before the house report of the Committee on Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (Amendment) bill 2017. The Chair and opposition members expressed concerns over the absence of Finance Ministry's officials in the gallery. They pointed out that the House is about to begin debate on the Finance bill 2017-18 but neither the finance minister nor relevant officials from the ministry are present in the House to take note of their recommendations. They said the government is not taking the upper house seriously. Responding to the concerns, Minster for Law Zahid Hamid rejected the impression that the government is not taking the House seriously. He said that we value the recommendations of the House and in the last budget many of the recommendations of the House on the budget were accepted. Later the Chair temporarily adjourned the proceedings of the House. Talking to media persons in Islamabad on Monday, she said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has presented himself as well as his family before the apex court for accountability despite of having all constitutional rights. She said, however, PTI is avoiding from its own accountability and ridiculing the constitutional institutions of the country as the party is involved in mega corruption scandals. The Minister of State said that Hussain Nawaz presented himself before JIT despite of objection and he did so just for the trust of people of Pakistan over three-time elected Prime Minister. She said that PTI is doing politics of blame game and anarchy in the country for sake of getting results as per its desire but courts of the country always give decisions on basis of strong evidences.
Indian state terrorism in Occupied Kashmir- Curfew continues in held Kashmir and Kashmiris being terrorized in fresh acts of state terrorism
In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown, marked by strict curfew and other restrictions, continued across the Kashmir Valley for the second consecutive day, today. Restrictions are imposed in Srinagar, Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama, Badgam, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Kupwara and Baramulla districts since Sunday to prevent protests against the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Sabzar Ahmad Butt and his associate Faizan Ahmad in Tral on Saturday. Call for a two-day strike was given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik. The leadership has also called for a march towards Tral, tomorrow, to pay tributes to Sabzar Ahmad Butt and other martyred youth.
