UN urges Pakistani artists to play role in achieving sustainable development goals
Director United Nations Information Center in Pakistan Vittorio Cammarota said we believe investing in youth as young people are effective agents of change.
In an interview with Radio Pakistan's News and Current Affairs Channel, he said the United Nations is working for zero hunger and sustainable development goal. He urged young Pakistani artists to develop some pieces of art talking about hunger and the United Nations will facilitate them.
Deputy Head of Swiss Development Cooperation Benedikt Hurzeler said art and culture play an important role in sustainable development and they are colaborating with different educational institutions in Pakistan to achieve this objective.
He said art competitions are being arranged in paintings and sculpture and students can get them registered by 15th August this year.
He said that art is the global language and young artists can communicate what need to be done to eliminate the hunger through this language.
Both the participants also appreciated the role of Radio Pakistan in mobilizing youth in developmental activities.
