Dastgir vows to intensify trade diplomacy with EU after Brexit
Minister directs to arrange exhibition of Pakistani designed ornaments, furniture, textile, handicrafts, sports, and fashion goods.
Commerce Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan has vowed to intensify trade diplomacy in the countries of the European Union (EU) after Britain's departure from the bloc.
In a statement issued in Islamabad on Wednesday, he stressed the need of looking for new trade partners and strengthening of relations with older ones in EU and the European Commission to safeguard Pakistan's economic interests.
The Minister said Pakistan's exports to the United Kingdom under GSP Plus, after Britain's decision of leaving the EU, will not be affected. He urged exporters to continue their exports to the United Kingdom without any concern as there is no immediate threat of ending UK's GSP plus.
Meanwhile, Khurram Dastgir Khan also held meeting with Pakistan's ambassador to Paris Moeen-ul-Haq and directed him to arrange a designing exhibition of Pakistani designed ornaments, furniture, textile, handicrafts, sports, and fashion goods.
